Rockland Public Library closes, staff to answer questions by phone

Tue, 03/17/2020 - 5:45pm

Rockland Public Library has submitted the following statement:

In the interest of staff, patrons, and the public, the Rockland Public Library is currently closed until further notice.

Staff will be here Monday through Friday, and available from 9  to 5 to answer your questions via phone, email, or Facebook Messaging. If you just need to hear a friendly voice, we are here for that, too.

Staff will also be working on Library projects.

If you need access to the internet, the Library’s Wi-Fi is available in the Library’s parking lot. The network is rplwireless, and the password is love2read.

As a reminder, the Library has many digital services available to you for free; check out information here: https://rocklandmaine.gov/municipal/departments/…/resources/ and here: https://rocklandmaine.gov/…/library/catalog/rockland-cloud…/

We are planning on maintaining a strong online presence, via Facebook and updates to the website. We’ll be hosting online events and sharing resources; stay tuned.

The state-wide interlibrary loan delivery service was suspended earlier today.  We are asking you to hold onto any material you have checked out, until we re-open.  If you receive an overdue reminder or bill notice, please ignore for the present. We look forward to seeing you and your items when we re-open.

The Friends’-run used book store, The Book Stop, is also closed, and the Library is not accepting any donations at this time.
