ROCKLAND — Multiple roads will be closed Saturday, August 6, for the 75th Annual Lobster Festival Parade, according to Rockland Police in a news release on its Facebook page.

Police said that on August 6, from 8:30a.m. until 12:30 p.m. all main roads into and out of downtown Rockland will be closed to vehicle traffic.

The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street.

The Ferry Terminal, Main Street, and locations east of Main Street (such as Tilson Ave and Journey’s End) will not be accessible by vehicle during this time. Travelers using the Ferry Terminal need to plan to be at the terminal no later than 8:30 a.m.

Those planning on visiting downtown Rockland during these hours and those coming to view the parade need to plan to be parked and/or to their destinations by 8:30 a.m.

For those traveling to or from Thomaston and Rockport, please detour using Old County Road or another route that does not include Route 1, 1A or Route 17.

Police ask the public to be patient and plan ahead as traffic will be much heavier than normal and delays are expected.
