Richard J. Vaillancort, obituary

LINCOLNVILLE — Richard John Vaillancort, 73, husband of Connie Drinkwater Vaillancort, died on Sunday, July 5, 2020 following several months declining health.  

Born in Rumford on September 17, 1946, he was the son of Leo J. and Helena (Dodge) Vaillancort, and grew up in Camden. Following graduation from Camden High School, Rick served two tours in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. He then completed courses at Southern Maine Vocational Institute and worked doing carpentry in the Midcoast area specializing in design and construction of stairs. Rick also worked with several building contractors including Duck Trap Woodworking on projects in Knox and Waldo counties.  

A man of strong faith, Rick was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Belfast, and was very devoted to his sister, Ruth Vaillancort.

Surviving is his wife, Connie Vaillancort of Lincolnville; his sister, Ruth Vaillancort of Northport; stepchildren, Daniel E. Cross of Thomaston, Joshua R. Cross of Rockland, and Merilee S. Cross of North Carolina; and several cousins.

Services were held on Monday, July 13, 2020.
