CAMDEN — War Memorial Post 30 held its first POW/MIA remembrance ceremony at the Village Green War Memorial in Camden Sept. 20.

There was a great turnout of veterans and legion members for the event including those from the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt Post 1 of Rockland and Kinney-Melquist Post 34 of Tenants Harbor.

Special thanks to Rep. Vicki Doudera who read the proclamation recognizing September 20 as POW/MIA day in Maine.

Gratitude is also extended to the Silhouette Project and the Maine Military Family Assistance Center for staffing a booth. Post 30 displayed their POW/MIA empty chair at the ceremony.

Keep all men and women not accounted for from the many wars and conflicts in your thoughts, so that they all my be repatriated home to us.
