Opening reception for Jackson Memorial Library November art show: Seasons of St. George
On Friday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m., the Jackson Memorial Library in Tenants Harbor will hold an opening reception for its November art show, “Seasons of St. George.” Refreshments will be served.
The show marks the return of Port Clyde artist Sandra Mason Dickson, who has been painting local scenes year-round since 1982.
The exhibit will feature a diverse selection of the area’s four seasons: snow and ice, raging ocean storms, logging while the ground is frozen, and quiet days that invite a walk in the woods; mud season followed by the colors of spring; fishing boats and the famous Laura B; cutting hay fields; creeks and tidal coves; a moonrise, sunsets, and more.
Dickson is known for her portraits of local people and creatures, both wild and domestic, and the show has plenty of horses for equine-loving visitors.
In addition to her work as a painter, Dickson has written and published three books and is working on a new one.
The show will be on display during November and is open to the public during regular library hours. A percentage of all sales will be donated to the library.
