Oceanside 7th girls basketball bests Medomak in title game

ROCKLAND — The top-seeded Medomak and second-seeded Oceanside seventh grade girls basketball teams met on the court Saturday, Jan. 25 at Oceanside High School in Rockland for a Busline League championship showdown. 

Medomak held narrow leads of 10-9 and 15-14 after the first and second quarters, respectively. 

Oceanside held a 30-22 lead after the third quarter to collect a 39-33 victory. 

Scoring for Medomak were Lilly Christ (eight points), Kytana Williamson (13), Audrey Jackson (three), Skylar Hills (four) and Erica Waite (five). 

Scoring for Oceanside were Ryley Beaudry (nine points), Kayla Baines (three), Sienna Geretz (one), Bailey Breen (22) and Lyleigh Reed (four). 

“They fought until the end,” said Medomak coach Andrea Williamson of her team. “They never gave up, it was great to see.”
