ELLSWORTH — Northern Light Orthopedics welcomes James Duffey, MD to Ellsworth. Dr. Duffey is board certified and specializes in total joint replacement and sports medicine.  

Practicing orthopedic medicine for 30 years, Dr. Duffey’s areas of expertise include management of sports injuries, with extensive experience in arthroscopic procedures of knees and shoulders, as well as arthritis surgery with total joint replacement of shoulders, hips and knees. As an early adopter of minimally invasive techniques for joint replacement and the use of computer-assisted navigation for implant placement, Dr. Duffey has extensive experience with several hundred cases performed using robotic technology.

Dr. Duffey completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, medical school at the University of Arizona, surgical internship at University of California San Francisco, and orthopedic residency at the University of Arizona. 

Dr. Duffey enjoys sports of all kinds and has provided sideline and team coverage for high school, collegiate and professional teams throughout his career. He has treated athletes of all ages and enjoys working with many weekend warriors, as he is one himself these days.
