Screening, panel discussion of 'The Buzz on Native Plants'
On Tuesday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m., the film The Buzz on Native Plants will be shown in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion of local experts including Avy Claire and Cathy Rees co-founders of the Native Gardens of Blue Hill and Pete and Julie Beckford, owners of Rebel Hill Nursery in Liberty.
The Buzz on Native Plants explores the relationship between native plants and pollinators and how they can benefit local ecosystems in our ever changing climate. The film portrays passionate Maine residents who are making a difference in how climate change is affecting our communities. See how a few small acts of planting with native plants can make a huge difference in flooding, erosion, draught, and wildlife. And what kind of difference we can make in our own backyards.
This free program is offered in collaboration with the Native Gardens of Blue Hill the Belfast Free Library. For more information visit belfastlibrary.org/events.
