Nominations open for 2018 County Teachers of the Year

Mon, 01/15/2018 - 9:00am

Do you know a public school teacher who's making a difference in the education of Maine students? Nominations are now open for the 2018 County Teachers of the Year. Anyone can nominate an exceptional teacher: students, co-workers, administrators, school or district committee members, family, friends, or community members. To be considered for the award and continue with the Teacher of the Year process, teacher candidates must submit written material to a review panel, as well as letters of recommendation from various stakeholders.

Maine Teacher of the Year is a program of the Maine Department of Education and is administered by Educate Maine, a business-led organization working to advance educational attainment and readiness for work among all Mariners. It is made possible by the support of the Maine State Board of Education and the Maine State Teacher of the Year Association, and is funded by Bangor Savings Bank, Dead River, Geiger, Hannaford, Thomas College, and the Maine State Lottery.

Nominations will close on February 5, 2018. For more information, or to nominate an inspiring educator: http://www.mainetoy.org/nominate.
