BATH — The Oceanside varsity girls tennis team hit the road Thursday, May 8 to challenge Morse in Bath. 

By match’s end, the visiting Mariners had been defeated 4-1. 

With the loss, Oceanside’s record dropped to 1-7. 

Up next for the Mariners will be a home match against Waterville on Monday, May 13 at 4 p.m.

First Singles: Emma Carpenter (O) defeated Ann French (M) 6-1, 6-0

Second Singles: Penelope Shields (M) defeated Alexa Barstow (O) 7-2, 6-0 

Third Singles: Elsa Bretelsman (M) defeated Laura Boutin (O) 6-1, 6-3

First Doubles: Katy Tucker and Kimberly St. Pierre (M) defeated Jaska Malone and Lizzie Yattaw (O) 6-3, 6-4 

Second Doubles: Sarah Berkwitz and Laney Schultz (M) defeated Lindsey Brooks and  Veronica Kaluta (O) 6-1, 6-2
