Megunticook Rowing announces summer programs
CAMDEN — Megunticook Rowing is pleased to announce summer rowing programs for all ages and levels of rowing experience. Rowing is the perfect way to get fit and enjoy the beauty of our waterways.
New to rowing? The organization offers learn to row classes weekday mornings and on weekends throughout the summer. Join Megunticook Rowing on the water for a four day learn-to-row class with our experienced, enthusiastic summer coaches.
No experience is needed, just a desire to have fun and a willingness to try something new. Once you have completed the learn to row classes or if you are newer rowers, you might enjoy novice rowing classes two mornings and one evening each week, the organization said a news release.
For experienced rowers interested in gathering for a social row and who also want to improve their technical abilities, intermediate rowing is offered two mornings and one evening each week.
For experienced rowers interested in training for speed, a competitive rowing program is offered three mornings and one evening each week.
Summer rowing will include sculling in single boats, and rowing in group boats, depending on interest.
Private lessons are also available. An experienced coaching staff includes professional coaches with extensive collegiate and club level experience, and college rowers home for the summer, eager to teach others to row.
Megunticook Rowing will comply with all State of Maine and US Rowing COVID-19 guidelines to ensure a safe experience for all participants.
Megunticook Rowing is a community-based, non-profit rowing program located at Barrett's Cove on Megunticook Lake in Camden that provides rowing opportunities to people of all ages and abilities, from middle schoolers to octogenarians.
