Meet Benny and Max

Our stunning Max is a 3-year-old Siamese who loves to cuddle up in blankets. And that's where he can usually be found: curled up under a blanket taking one of his many and much-needed cat naps. Max loves to be petted, and he'll start purring to let you know how much he enjoys your attention. But don't expect him to come to you for affection. As is true with many Siamese, you have to go to him. Max has lived with other cats, however, and gotten along with them just fine

Sweet Benny is an 8-year-old declawed cat, and this is his second time at finding his fur-ever home. He was here in March of 2011 and wasn't adopted until August 2013. And then he was brought back because his owner had to move. Since Benny is declawed, he'd do best as an indoor cat only. He likes to do things in his own time frame, including when he can be petted.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our kitten shower this past Saturday. People brought donations of food, toys, blankets and paper towels, and we've added some new names to our foster family list. At present we do not have any kittens up for adoption, but we do have two litters out in foster homes who will be ready for adoption in about five weeks.

Wish list: We'd love to find some volunteers who can help us clean cat rooms in the morning. If you have an hour to spare and don't mind cleaning, give us a call. We can always use help getting our cat rooms cleaned, and as an added bonus you can socialize with the cats while you're in a room.

In fact, there are lots of ways to help at the shelter, and every one of them can make a real difference in the lives of these wonderful creatures until they find a home and a family of their very own. There's plenty here for everyone to do, so stop by the shelter at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We're open from Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our phone number is 236-8702 and our website at pawsadoption.org is always open.

And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
