Medomak 8th girls basketball tops Camden-Rockport

CAMDEN — The Camden-Rockport and Medomak eighth grade girls basketball teams met on the hardwood Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Camden for a Busline League contest. 

Following a tough contest, the visiting Riverhawks earned a 33-22 victory over the host Schooners. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kylie Blake (seven points), Kaylee Kurr (five), Eliza Luce (six), Sara Nelson (two), Olivia Pelkey (five), Haley Puchalski (three) and Eilee Stelzer (five). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were A. Johnson (13 points), B. Mackey (five) and L. Martin (four). 

Following the contest, Medomak coach Celia Philbrick credited her team for playing hard man-to-man defense and for overcoming foul trouble. The Riverhawks’ coach also credited the team’s offense for moving the ball well and constantly looking for shots to take. 

The next game for Camden-Rockport will be Monday, Jan. 13 at home against Drinkwater. 

The next game for Medomak will be Monday, Jan. 13 at home against Wiscasset.
