Medomak 7th baseball collects first two wins of season

After opening the season with a 0-3 record, the Medomak seventh grade baseball team collected a pair of wins this past week to improve its record to 2-4. 

Looking at the week ahead, the Riverhawks will host Bristol on Monday, May 13 and travel to Nobleboro/Jefferson on Thursday, May 16. Both games are slated for 3:45 pm. starts. 

The regular season finale is slated for Monday, May 20 at home against Wiscasset/Boothbay at 3:45 p.m.

Medomak 11, Troy Howard 3

In Waldoboro on Monday, May 6, the Riverhawks collected its first victory of the season courtesy an 11-3 defeat of Troy Howard. 

For Medomak, Kyle Smith tossed 6.2 innings allowing no hits and one walk while fanning 13. 

Isaac Bickford collected Medomak’s lone hit of the game. Aaron Reed (three) and Sam Moody (two) scored runs for the Riverhawks. 

Wetherington and Castro each tallied a hit for Troy Howard. 

Boothbay 15, Medomak 13

In Boothbay on Thursday, May 9, Medomak dropped a close contest 15-13 to host Boothbay. 

The Riverhawks jumped to a 9-4 advantage after two innings, but were outscored 11-4 in the final five frames. 

Gavin Castner (three), Michael Sabins (two), Reed (two), Bickford (two), Kyle Smith (one), Sam Moody (one) and Nelson Weeks (one) tallied hits for Medomak. 

Medomak 7, Great Salt Bay 2

On the road in Damariscotta on Saturday, May 11, the Riverhawks collected a 7-2 victory thanks, in part, to the pitching power of Landon Tapley, Reed and Smith. 

At the plate for Medomak were Kory Donlin (three hits), Reed (two), Smith (one), Moody (one) and Jay Jones (one). 

At the plate for Great Salt Bay were Luke Houghton (two hits) and Micah Tomasello (one).
