Medomak 6th girls travel basketball finishes second at Gardiner Tiger Classic

GARDINER — The Medomak sixth grade girls travel basketball team, sponsored by Moody’s Diner, finished as runner-ups at the Gardiner Tiger Classic, an event held Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3. 

The Medomak team includes Kytana Williamson, Rosin Hopkins, Sadie Knight, Audrey Jackson, Lilly Christ, Erica White, Paige Jarvis, Emily Richards and Skylar Hills. The team is coached by Andrea and Richard Williamson.  

Game One: Medomak 37, Winslow 18

Medomak held a 27-9 advantage at the half.

Scoring for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (12 points), Sadie Knight (two), Audrey Jackson (10), Lilly Christ (two), Erica Waite (eight) and Skylar Hills (four). 

Scoring for Winslow were Kyri Meak (six points), Mia Fitzpatrick (three), Chloe Michaud (five) and Abby Mccaslin (four). 

Medomak’s Jackson was awarded most valuable player for this contest. 

Game Two: Medomak 42, Midcoast 14

Playing against a team drawing players from Thomaston, Rockland, St. George and Cushing, Medomak held a 29-4 advantage at the half.

Scoring for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (17 points), Knight (four), Jackson (10), Christ (two), Waite (three), Hills (three), Richards (two) and Hopkins (one). 

Scoring for Midcoast were Sierna Geretz (three points), Alayna Marchessault (one), Mauwa Jordan (six), Lyleigh Reed (four). 

The game’s MVP award was given to Kytana Williamson. 

Game Three: Medomak 31, Gardiner Fifth 3

Medomak held a 15-1 advantage at the half. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (eight points), Knight (four), Jackson (16), Christ (two), Waite (two) and Hills (one).

Scoring for Gardiner Fifth was Brynnlea Chaisson (three points). 

Knight was awarded the MVP award for this game. 

Game Four: Medomak 38, Winslow 11

Medomak held a 29-6 advantage at the half. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (16 points), Knight (four), Jackson (10), Christ (two), Erica Waite (two), Hills (three) and Hopkins (one). 

Scoring for Winslow were Ava Perrino (three), Chloe Michaud (four) and Mia Fitzpatrick (four). 

Hills was awarded the game’s MVP award. 

Game Five: Gardiner Sixth 27, Medomak 24 (Championship) 

Gardiner Sixth held a 13-10 advantage at the half. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kytana Williamson (five points), Jackson (10), Christ (seven) and Hills (two). 

Scoring for Gardiner Sixth were Taryn Nichols (three points), Lilly Staples (four), Lydia Gero (three), Emilie Brann (11) and Addison Serbor (three). 

Jackson was awarded the MVP award for the game.
