WARREN — Marie L. Bickford, 77, of Warren, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 2, 2025. Marie was a woman of many talents and deep kindness. A true lover of country music, she shared her voice with many as the lead singer of The Shelby Wright Band, performing throughout Maine alongside her husband, Scott, who played steel guitar. Their music brought joy to countless friends and neighbors over the years.

Marie worked as a dedicated bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Scott’s Plumbing & Heating, and also worked side by side with him as a Master Plumber; known for her precision, steady hands, and the pride she took in her craft.

In her later years she found joy and fulfillment in her own glass art business, Pure at Heart, where she used dichroic glass to reflect the beauty and light she saw in the world around her.

She loved nature, animals, and the simple joys of life. Above all, she adored her husband, Scott, and their son, Jesse, who were both the center of her world. She held a special fondness for her extended family and friends.

Predeceased by her mother; a brother; and a sister in Georgia; Marie is survived by her husband, Scott E. Bickford Sr.; her son Jesse M. Bickford; stepchildren, Brandie Bickford and Scott E. Bickford Jr., all who reside in Maine. She is also survived by a brother James Carey; and a special friend David Lee of Georgia.

Per her wishes, Marie’s family will remember her life privately. Marie believed that people showed their hearts through actions rather than words. In her memory, her family asks those who knew her to honor this belief by sharing kindness with one another.
