Maine Lobster Bake in Northport to benefit new community center, town hall, fire station
Event Date
Sunday, August 02, 2026 - 02:00 pm to 06:00 pmThe Town of Northport invites guests to a "one-afternoon celebration of Maine at its finest" on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 2 to 6 p.m., in the historic seaside village of Bayside. Every dollar raised goes directly toward the construction of a new community center, town hall, and fire station for the town — "making this as much an investment in Northport’s future as it is a taste of its summer," said the Town, in a news release.
"The afternoon unfolds in a place that feels lifted from a storybook," said the Town. "Tucked on a wooded hillside sweeping down to the water, Bayside is a 28-acre national historic district of tightly clustered 'gingerbread' cottages — carved, cut-out, and painted in whimsical colors, their roots reaching back to an 1848 Methodist camp meeting on the shores of the bay. Narrow streets, a tiny honor-system library, and a village green where children once raced sailboats have made Bayside, in the words of one longtime resident, 'the kind of place I thought only existed in books.'”
Tickets are $55 each and should be purchased in advance. A very limited number of tickets will be available the day of the event for $65 each. The event is held rain or shine. Reserve your spot at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1991921385485?aff=oddtdtcreator.
Beyond the food, guests can browse and purchase original work from local artisans and enjoy live music from Suzanne Rico, all within steps of the village wharf and its sweeping views of the water.
"This is a rare chance to experience the best of Maine food, views, and hospitality in one unforgettable afternoon — in a village that feels like it exists out of time, and for a cause that will serve Northport for generations," said the Town.
