'Late Summer' exhibit at New Era Gallery features Suzanne Savage Brewer

New Era Gallery, in Vinalhaven, will open a Late Summer show, Saturday, Aug. 23, with an artist’s talk at 4:30 p.m., followed by a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show features the oil paintings of Suzanne Savage Brewer.
In addition to studio work, Brewer enjoys painting on location to try to capture what makes each location unique and bring authenticity and energy to her work. Brewer’s paintings have inspired violinist Callie Brennan, who plays with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and the Portland String Quartet, to compose music she will perform in conjunction with the artist’s talk.
The show runs through September 7.
