Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Fraud, outstanding arrest warrants, harassment
The Knox County Sheriff’s office received 294 calls for service from Jan. 4- Jan. 10. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
Jan. 4
Deputy Paul Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained with minor injuries.
Deputy John Hansen began an investigation of harassment in Union. The suspect will be issued a notice for same once located.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Hansen issued a summons for no insurance.
Spear began an investigation of criminal mischief in Warren. The suspect was issued a summons for same.
Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Spear began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The suspect will be issued a notice for same once located.
Deputy Paul Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Jan. 5
Hansen responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy Pat Polky began an investigation of theft on North Haven. The item in question has been recovered.
Deputy Matt Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Appleton involving a single vehicle striking a deer. No damage sustained.
Jan. 6
Hansen conducted a radar detail in Cushing. Three warnings and one summons were issued.
Hansen began an investigation of harassment in South Thomaston. The suspect in this case was issued a notice for harassment and trespass.
Elwell conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.
Deputy Potter began an investigation of fraud on Vinalhaven. The suspect was issued a summons for same.
Jan. 7
Det. Don Murray arrested Jacob Graffam-Connors, 30, of Searsport, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was escorted to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Elwell conducted a radar detail in Union. No violations were noted.
Elwell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained with one occupant transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputy Jeremy Joslyn assisted Waldoboro Police units in locating a male who had attempted to harm himself. The male was located and secured. This is a Waldoboro Police case.
Jan. 8
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Spear issued a summons for no insurance.
Sgt. John Palmer arrested Jeffrey Calden, 30, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Jan. 9
Joslyn arrested Mackenzie Murray, 22, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident where he was also charged with a probation violation.
Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non reportable damage sustained.
Jan. 10
Following a traffic stop in Thomaston, Pinkham issued a summons for operating left of center line.
Spear arrested William Beck, 50, of Washington, on an outstanding arrest warrant.Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Joslyn responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Thomaston. The vehicle and operator were located who showed no signs of impairment.
