Kenneth Milliken, obituary

LINCOLNVILLE — Kenneth Milliken, 78, a Lincolnville resident since 1962, died June 11, 2013, at Windward Gardens in Camden. Born in Camden Dec. 20, 1934, he was the son of Walter Leroy and Josephine Alice (Bagley) Milliken. He was a 1953 graduate of Camden High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a machinery repairman thirrd class. On June 8, 1958, he married Cora Young.

For 27 years, Kenneth was employed at Bicknell Manufacturing in Rockland, which made stone cutting tools. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists.

Kenneth loved to go hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed going to his camp at Chesuncook Lake and taking Sunday afternoon drives.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Cora Young Milliken; and his son, Travis K. Milliken, both of Lincolnville; one sister, Jeanette Polky of St. George; three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Bishop of Belfast, Connie Duffy Milliken of Camden and Kathleen "Cassie" Wade and her husband, Lawrence, of Lincolnville; his nieces and nephews, Dennis Milliken and his wife, Debra, of Rockport, Linda Roden and her husband, Roy, of Camden, Betty Emmons and her husband, Ryan, of Oakland, Robin Polky and his wife, Elizabeth, of Brunswick, Deborah Emrick and her husband, Mark, of Harrisville, Mich., Bobby Joe Polky and his wife, Elain, of St. George, and Tracy Kniesner and her husband, Brian, of Waldoboro; his step-niece, Jean Wade of Atlantic Beach N.C.; his step-nephew, Larry Wade of West Rockport; many cousins; great-nieces; and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank W. Milliken.

A graveside service was held June 15 at Mountain View Cemetery in Camden. The Rev. Dr. Susan Stonestreet officiated.
