SOUTH THOMASTON — John A. Woodman, 65, passed away unexpectedly June 3, 2013.

He was born in Damariscotta March 21, 1947. He lived and worked in Rockland, and for the past several years in Boca Grande, Fla. He had a career in maintenance at F. J. O'Hara and Sons with his father and he was a painter at the Gasparilla Inn in Boca Grande until retiring last year to Rockland.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Arthur T. Woodman and Grace M. Perry Woodman. He is survived by his sister, Bessie Thayer and her husband, Herman Thayer, of Owls Head; his son, A.J. Woodman and granddaughter Ainsley Woodman, both of Rockland; his daughter, Heather Witter and granddaughter Delilah Woodman and grandson Abel Witter, all of Middletown, Conn.

At the family's request, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841, as John was an avid dog lover.
