James Marriner, obituary
VINALHAVEN — James Riley "Jimi" Marriner, 49, passed away Dec. 5, 2013, at home in Vinalhaven surrounded by his family. Born in Rockland Oct. 22, 1964, he was the son of Barbara Jean Seawell and Alfred Arnold Marriner.
He grew up on Vinalhaven and attended school there, where he was a very talented basketball player. At the age of 12, Jimi decided to go lobstering, packing a lunch, wearing his waders and riding his skateboard from his home to the shore. A life-long resident of Vinalhaven, Jimi had worked as a self-employed lobsterman for many years.
Surviving are his parents, Barbara Seawell of Vinalhaven and Alfred A. Marriner of Owls Head; two children, Sabrina Marriner and Dustin Marriner; two brothers, Jason Marriner and Jesse Poole; four sisters, Laurie Haynes, Holly Wellman, Daphne Ripley and Sherry Ripley; and two grandchildren, Scarlet Martin and Primrose Nippe.
Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be announced.
Arrangements are with Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Camden.
