James M. Curtis III, obituary
KNOX — James M. Curtis III, 39, of Knox, passed away unexpectedly April 6, 2014, in Hampden. He was born Aug. 14, 1974, in Waterville, the son of James M. and Shirley (Carson) Curtis Jr.
Jim graduated, Class of 1992, from Mt. View High School. He went on to attend Eastern Maine Technical Center, where he graduated with a degree in welding and has worked at Cianbro ever since.
Jim will be remembered as a hard worker with a sense of humor and a sweet spirit. He was very generous and set a great example for his nephews. His parents remember him as a wonderful son. Jim enjoyed snowmobiling, movies and playing at Hollywood Slots. He was an avid Patriots fan who also enjoyed attending Blue Angels air shows with his nephews. Jim enjoyed practical jokes with his friends at work.
Jim is survived by his loving parents; his siblings, Lorri Vaillancourt and her husband, Daniel, of Thorndike, and Jason Curtis and his wife, Syd, of Knox; his nephews, Scott and Marcus; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his long-time friend, Mike Raven; and many other work buddies.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, April 10, at 10 a.m.
