BELMONT — Jack H. Ward, 73, of Belmont passed away unexpectedly at his residence Feb. 24, 2013. He was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Belfast, the son of the late John and Bernice (Newcomb) Ward.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy after high school during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then worked and retired from the paper mill in Bucksport, after being there as a calendar operator and foreman for more than 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Jack was predeceased by his siblings, John, Tom, Leeman, Lawrence, Rosie and Marion.

He is survived by his companion, Betty Cool of Belmont; Dusty Ward and his wife, Kim, of Belmont; Rita Ward of Rockland; Stacey Ward and Justin Ward, both of Winterport; Eric Bagley of Stockton Springs; Scott Colcord of Monroe; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Melissa, Marc, Megan, Elizabeth, Morgan, Gage, Avery, Brook and Shawn; 10 great-grandchildren; his siblings, twin brother James Ward and his wife, Jean, of Belfast, Virginia Clark of Belfast, Faylene Moulton and her husband, Ronald, of Swanville, Irene Downs of Belfast and Judy Gray of Swanville. Jack will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, as well as his close friend, Bert Maddocks.

Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast.
