It’s a marshmallow world here in Maine

THOMASTON — The snow has begun to fall again in the Midcoast, and a winter weather advisory is in effect today through 10 p.m., Dec. 26.

The steady snowfall is forecast to accumulate up to 6 inches along the coast, from Boothbay Harbor through Down East, though inland areas will receive less snow than coastal areas.

While there are plenty of Mainers weary of being without electricity since Sunday and Monday’s ice storm, few people tire of snow and ice photographs, especially those who only visit Maine or live here part-time.

Hope Creighton of Thomaston sent us a photo of her backyard, which includes rows of snow-covered shrink-wrapped hay bales. It’s so nice, we turned it into our cover photo on Facebook.

If you find yourself with a camera, tablet or smartphone and a view you want to share, snap a photo, tell us where you were and email it to pix@penbaypilot.com. We’ll post it for others to see, and give you credit for being there and taking the shot!
