BELFAST — Ian Curran, 83, passed away Jan. 1, 2014, in Bangor. He was born in Scotland May 4, 1930, to George and Sarah (Goldie) Curran.

He enjoyed working in New York at Cambridge Instruments, but enjoyed his retirement in Maine. During his retirement, he traveled to Africa twice. Ian played the bagpipes performing in parades with a bagpiper band.

Ian is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joyce Curran; his son, Joseph Kaminski and his wife, Fran, of Unity; his siblings, Heather, Sabrina and Alexander; and his three grandchildren. Special thanks to Bill Whitney for his kind support.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast.
