Hockey Weekly: Windjammers remain undefeated
This week we have the ninth installment of Hockey Weekly. This is designed to present what is going on, upcoming games, promotions, hockey news, feature games, photos and videos when available.
From the youth hockey played locally at the Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport, to high school, college and the pros.

High School Hockey
Camden Hills 6, Yarmouth 2… The Camden Hills hockey team hosted Yarmouth Saturday at Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport and extend their season record to 8-0 with the win.
Camden Hills scored two goals at 11:19 and 8:56 to take the lead 2-0 after the opening period.
In the second period Camden Hills and Yarmouth played an even up and down the ice game with Camden Hills trying to gain some separation and Yarmouth battling to stay in the game resulting in one goal each and a 3-1 score after two periods.
In the third period Camden Hills pulled away scoring the first two goals of the period to lead 5-1. Yarmouth got a power play goal half way through the period to pull within three goals 5-2. Camden Hills got another goal with just under five minutes remaining to go up 6-2.
Camden Hills successfully managed to kill several Yarmouth power play attempts in the last four minutes of play to end the game and get the win.
Scoring for Camden Hills were, Stephen Hand with a hat trick; Jack Orne two goals and an assist; Simon Lydon a goal and assist; Grayson Szumilas (3), Cal Robbins (2) James Annis (2) and Matt Prescott and Parker Lawson all has assists.
"The game was closer than the final score indicates," said Camden Hills coast Karl Enroth. "We were able to maintain a lead throughout the game and we got key goals from Jack Orne and Stephen Hand in the third period to pull away at the end"
Jet Magri was in goal for the Windjammers where he had 19 saves on 21 shots for the win, while his counterpart Red DeSmith had 30 saves on 36 shots from Camden Hills.
Camden Hills was 1-of-4 in power play opportunities while Yarmouth was 1-of-5. The Windjammers had four minor and one major penalty for 13 minutes in the penalty box while Yarmouth had three minors and one major for 16 minutes in the box.

Yar 2-5 @ 8:19, Sam Laundry Power Play Goal, unassisted. Laundry keeps the puck in at the blue line point and fires a high Slap shot past Camden Hills goalie Jet Magri.
CH 6-2 @ 4:31, Stephen Hand Goal, assists James Annis and Parker Lawson. James Annis fires a shot on net and Stephen Hand skating hard to the net knocks in the rebound from the net front.

YOUTH HOCKEY
PW Tier III - MCSA Storm 8, Breakers 1… The Storm hosted the Breakers Sunday and skated to a solid 8-1 win.
Scoring for MCSA in the game were, Cameron Christie (4), Lucas Robitaille (3) and Cole Anderson one. Anderson (3), Daniel Lydon (2) Liam Hanning, Robitaille and Thomas Griebel all had assists.
For Breakers, Tyler LaFlamme scored the lone goal and it was unassisted.
R.J. Botley was in goal for the Storm earning the win. Seth Dube and Sean White shared minutes in goal for the Breakers.

College
The University of Maine Black Bears Hockey team is finding it hard to get going this season and Friday and Saturday nights this past weekend were no better.
On Friday, Jan. 11 the Black Bears played at Northeastern where they skated to a 1-1 tie in (OT).
Saturday they played Merrimack losing 6-0.
The Black Bears are now 5-13-3 on the season. They are 1-8-3 in conference, are 0-7-2 at home, 1-5-1 away and 4-1 on neutral ice.
This weekend the Black Bears will host Merrimack Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18 and 19 with the Saturday night 7 p.m. game being broadcast on WABI-TV in Bangor.
Professional
PORTLAND PIRATES
The Pirates picked up a pair of wins this weekend, both on the road, Saturday in Bridgewater winning 6-3 and Sunday at Worcester where they won 3-1.
Portland is in first place in the Atlantic Division of the American Hockey League with a record of 23-12-2, while the Providence Bruins are in third place with a record of 19-14-2.
There are 30 teams in the AHL and six divisions of five in the East and West. Pirates leading the team include Top Scorer, #17 in the league, Alexandre Bolduc with 17 goals and 15 assists for the Pirates.
This will be a busy week for the Pirates with four games, Tuesday they will host Connecticut at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7 p.m. Friday they will travel to Providence, Saturday they are back in Portland for Conn. again and Sunday off to Manchester. NH for a 3 p.m. afternoon game.
NHL
The National Hockey league will lick off it's shortened season Saturday with a full slate of games.
Boston will open the season at home against the New York Rangers Jan, 19. They will host Winnipeg on Jan. 21, will travel to the Rangers on Jan. 23 and finish up the week Friday, Jan. 25 home against the New York Islanders.
The Bruins finished last season 49-29-4, second in the Eastern Conference and were 7-2-1 in their last 10 games of the regular season.
