BELFAST — Harold Eugene “Sonny” Leathers Sr. was born July 15, 1946; he died Oct. 17, 2013, in Belfast. He married Cindy (Flagg) Leathers Dec. 23, 1967. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Henry Harold Leathers and Lydia Mae Frances (Hall) Leathers.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cindy; his sisters, Leona Pearl Perkins, Florance Ruby Curtis and Verna Martha Pinkerton; his sons, Hal Leathers and Jamie, and Hank Leathers and Sue; eight grandchildren, Sarah Leathers, Corey Leathers, Hal Leathers, Katie Day, Brittany Bragdon, Dustyn Bragdon, Ashley Dodd and Nikki Totman; four great-grandchildren Bryan Totman, Richard Wentworth, Kaylee Leathers and Levi Sullivan; and two great-grandchildren on the way.

He worked as a bulldozer operator for the City of Belfast for many years. He loved watching history movies and crime dramas, working with his hands and “raising hell with the grandkids.”

Graveside services will be held at Grove Cemetery Friday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m.

Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast.
