More and more, people are turning to Craigslist to sell, buy, barter and give away myriad categories of goods and services. Following is a verbatim sampling — typos and all — of some of the posts we found in the "free" category this past week. Many of the posts are the usual stuff - slightly broken old televisions, furniture and exercise equipment - this week there are not as many free roosters to be had, but if you need some white paper lunch bags (think New Year's Eve luminaria), some usesd cloth diapers or Christmas trees for next year, Craigslist Maine has them all for free. 13" tv and DVD/CD/VCR player (Portland)
Have a new tv set-up so am giving away my old stuff. The tv is 13" color with NO REMOTE, nice picture - no problems, it does not have the new tuner in it so you either need cable or a separate tuner box. The DVD/ CD/ VCR player has a few issues but for free...(there IS a remote for this) the DVD player stops from time to time during play, few seconds then resumes, this does not happen when you play CDs through the TV. The VCR needs to have the heads cleaned but I don't have the cassette to do it. (You can also use alcohol and a q-tips). Would be good for a kids room or spare bedroom. as i said, i am moving from a house to a room, and i have been procrastinating and now need to get rid of all my furniture by monday. you want it, you come pick it up. otherwise it is going to the dump. I have a black leather couch that is about 3 years old. it has been scratched a lot by my cats, but is otherwise in great shape. (nothing is broken) I also have a black tv stand with two glass shelves, about 2 years old and in great shape I have a small wooden table with 4 wooden chairs. it is old, it's been passed around my family quite a bit and is a little worn but would be great for someone just starting out or in a pinch. I also have two tables, one large and square like a large coffee table, and one smaller like an end table. both are green and metal.

Is not currently operating, it came off of a boat that had had generator problems and was likely exposed to some bad voltage/current/etc. The internal 250v AC fuse was blown, everything else looked OK: not water damaged or melted, or broken. I replaced the fuse and it blew immediately (no batteries connected). One more fuse goes with it. It is has been reassembled...
