THOMASTON — Bones is now home, her owner, Edison Baez, reported Thursday morning, June 4.

I'm happy to say that Bones is home as of this morning,” said Baez. “Thank you so much for helping! Found her behind the prison store in Thomaston.”

Bones had been missing since Friday, May 29, from Wadsworth Street in Thomaston.

While no one was home, the fire department responded to smoke coming from one of the windows of a home, and had to break in the door. They removed the pets from the apartment. There was no fire, but Bones escaped from the animal control officer and ran up Wadsworth St. towards the field behind the Prison Store, where she's walked twice a day and which is a familiar area for her.

She was not wearing any collar or I.D. and does not have a chip. She was running scared and is shy, but responds to being offered a "cookie.”

She's black with white markings and has an "outie" belly-button.
