Erskine baseball blanks Belfast

SOUTH CHINA — The Belfast varsity baseball team hit the road to South China on Friday, May 24 to challenge Erskine Academy. 

In the end, the hosts were able to shutout the visiting Lions 3-0. 

With the loss, Belfast dropped to 8-7 on the season. 

Up next for Belfast will be the regular season finale Tuesday, May 28 on the road against Camden Hills at 4:30 p.m.

Erskine Academy plated a run in the first inning and two in the third, while collecting four hits and recording two errors. 

Belfast recorded one hit and one error. 

Working the mound for Belfast was Jason Bartlett, who fanned six batters in six innings. 

Lucas Anderson fanned three batters in 6.2 innings for Erskine Academy. 

Recording Belfast’s lone hit was Dylan Abbott, while Nick Howard (two hits, RBI) and Braden Soule were among Erskine’s offensive contributors.
