Driver transported to hospital following Camden crash
CAMDEN — The driver of a three-quarter ton Ford pickup crashed into the ledges near Megunticook Lake Monday night, Sept. 12, on his way home to Lincolnville. The force of the impact demolished his vehicle, but the man was able to climb out of it by the time Camden Fire Department and North East Mobile Health Service rescue crews arrived.
“He was reaching for his phone, he told police,” said Camden Fire Chief Chris Farley.
Tuesday morning, Camden Police Chief Randy Gagne identified the driver as 33-year-old Brian Lynch, with a Rockport address. Gagne said that the investigation into the crash continues.
Lynch veered off to the right side of the road, into the rocks that line the mountain-side of Route 52, halfway between the boat landing and the Lincolnville town line. The crash occurred at approximately 9 p.m.
An ambulance crew transported him to Pen Bay Medical Center, in Rockport.
The road remained closed while firefighters cleared debris from it.
