ROCKLAND — The deadline to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and the Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) at the University of Maine at Augusta’s Rockland Center is January 31. These competitive programs have strict cut-off dates, unlike many other UMA programs which have rolling admissions.

Students are being admitted now for the Fall of 2021.

The BSN and the MLT programs are highly sought college degrees which lead to challenging and well paid careers. Students in these programs may complete all of their course work at UMA Rockland and perform their clinical experiences at local healthcare facilities such as Miles, PenBay and Waldo County Hospitals.

Some students may choose to apply to either a pre-nursing or pre-MLT track and complete some course work before admission to the program. That means a longer route to degree completion but it can allow adult students some flexibility to combine college work with other life responsibilities.

Academic advisors at UMA Rockland are available to offer free advice and coaching on the best academic path for local individuals. Appointments are available via phone or ZOOM by emailing umarockland@maine.edu or by calling the Center at 596-6906.
