Damariscotta Hardware raises $2,500 for Healthy Lincoln County through register round-up campaign
DAMARISCOTTA — When small change adds up, it can make a big difference, according to Do it Best Corporation, in a news release. Thanks to a two-week register round-up campaign by Damariscotta Hardware, a locally owned cooperative partner of Do it Best Corp., $2,500 will support the work of Healthy Lincoln County. The funds were raised one checkout at a time and matched dollar-for-dollar by the locally owned cooperative.
Healthy Lincoln County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of residents throughout Lincoln County. The organization supports initiatives that strengthen food access, promote healthy living, support aging populations, and foster strong community connections, helping neighbors live healthier, more secure lives.
“Investing in our community is a responsibility we take seriously,” said Rob Gardiner, President of Damariscotta Hardware, in the news release. “We’re grateful for our community’s support during this campaign. Their generosity is exactly why we chose to match the register donations. Giving back isn’t just something we do during the holidays, this winter and beyond, we’ll continue supporting the people who make this community strong.”
Building on the success of this campaign, Damariscotta Hardware will continue its register round-up efforts in January, supporting additional local organizations focused on community needs. The first half of January will benefit CHIP (Community Housing Improvement Project), followed by support for the Lincoln County Fire Chiefs Association later in the month.
Both CHIP and the Community Energy Fund (CEF) play critical roles in helping residents manage heating expenses during the winter months through donations of firewood, heating oil, and other heating assistance. The Lincoln County Fire Chiefs Association is currently raising funds to install much-needed dry fire hydrants in the underfunded northern regions of Lincoln County, improving fire protection and public safety for those communities.
Through these ongoing register round-up campaigns, Damariscotta Hardware reinforces its commitment to keeping support local and addressing real, seasonal needs across Lincoln County.
Damariscotta Hardware is a locally owned hardware store and proud co-op partner of Do it Best Corp., serving the community with dependable products, expert advice, and a year-round commitment to supporting local organizations and neighbors in need.
