LINCOLNVILLE — Cora May Milliken, 83, of Lincolnville, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Sussman House in Rockport. She came into this world with her twin sister, Kathleen (Cassie), in Camden on June 8, 1939; she was the daughter of Merrill C. and Annie A. (Osmond) Young.

Cora was the Valedictorian in the Class of 1957 at Camden High School where she was also on the basketball team.

On June 8, 1958 (her birthday), she married Kenneth L. Milliken. In 1962, they moved to Lincolnville. Cora first worked at the Camden National Bank for several years, before her long career as an insurance agent with the Talbot-Stevenson Agency, W. C. Ladd & Son, and Morse Payson & Noyes insurance agencies in Camden where she worked until she retired.

Cora loved to cook and spoiled her family with countless sumptuous meals and baked delicacies. She truly enjoyed caring for her perennial gardens until she was no longer able to do so. She also looked forward to spending time during the summer months on Matinicus at the family property where her father was a lobsterman. The family also spent time at their camp in the Allagash.

In her retirement years, Cora devoted much of her time to her cooking, and for a time was the caregiver for her twin sister, Cassie. She had a warm and compassionate personality and was very devoted to her family and their needs. She will be so very greatly missed by her family, farewell Mom, until we are together once again!

Cora leaves behind her son, Travis Milliken of Lincolnville; sister, Phyllis Bishop of Belfast; sister-in-law, Connie Milliken of Camden; and niece, Tracy Kniesner of Waldoboro.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, in 2013 and her sister, Kathleen (Cassie) Wade, in 2020.

Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Camden. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to the Waldo County Humane Society, P.O. Box 479, Belfast, ME 04915.
