Camden man to serve six months in jail for ATM theft
ROCKLAND – A Camden man is going to jail after pleading guilty to stealing more than $7,000 by using another individual’s ATM card.
Zachary T. Carleton, 28, was sentenced by Judge Susan Sparaco April 5 in Knox County Unified Court to two years in jail with all but six months suspended. He will also serve two years of probation following his release from jail.
One of the terms of Carleton’s probation include that he repay $7245.40 in restitution to the victim.
Carleton was charged with theft by Rockport Police Officer Travis Ford in July 2016. He plead guilty to the charge in December 2016.
According to police, he used the victim’s ATM card at multiple locations to withdraw the money.
Court documents confirmed that Carlton withdrew the money from January through May 2016.
