Camden Public Library has issued the following update regarding Library services:

The Camden Public Library will extend its closure to the public into April, in alignment with the updated mandate issued by Governor Janet Mills. Library staff are working on projects from within the library and from their homes to help the community stay connected to the library resources and services they value and rely on.

Visiting the website librarycamden.org and the Camden Public Library’s Facebook page are the best ways for members to stay on top of the latest updates and program offerings. The new challenges of social distancing have also presented new opportunities for learning, sharing, and connecting. The homepage of the library’s website provides quick links to the free film streaming service Kanopy, access to thousands of e-books and audiobooks from Cloud Library, and a “mega-list” of links to the best online resources for everything from free Broadway performances to kids’ art classes.

From the library’s Facebook Page, members can access Miss Amy’s story times and crafts uploaded every weekday.

On Monday mornings, at 11 a.m., Miss Julia will live-stream readings from books about Maine’s history, as part of the library’s year-long program series celebrating Maine’s Bicentennial.

On Fridays, at 11 a.m., Miss Julia will host a story time for grown-ups and read aloud selections from a variety of fascinating fiction and nonfiction books.

Facebook users should also keep an eye out for content like #TBT (Throwback Thursday) posts about local history featuring images and information from the library’s Walsh History Center collections, as well as some spontaneous silliness to keep everyone smiling!
