CAMDEN — Jazz in June, Camden’s first-ever multi-day/multi-venue jazz festival, is set for Friday through Sunday, June 14 through 16.

The three-day festival where the jazz meets the sea offers music outdoors and in, including a couple of free concerts and jazz all round town.

The fest kicks off Friday evening with two events: Camden Opera House’s free Blue Café series presenting the Bill Barnes Duo; and The Right Track Band playing a dance party at the Camden Snow Bowl.

Saturday afternoon, the Snow Bowl will host an afternoon mountainside of music featuring regional performers Katie Matzell, the Wayne Delano Quartet, the Whitehead/Dean Group, Hyperphonix and The Extension Chords.

Saturday night’s feature concert at the Camden Opera House will present the Kenny Barron Trio, headlining an evening that also showcases the Greg Abate Quartet and the Peter Dembski Group.

Whether he is playing solo, trio or quintet, Kenny Barron is recognized as a master of performance and composition, according to organizers, in a news release. Pianist Barron collaborated with the tenor saxophonist Stan Getz, touring with his quartet and recording several legendary projects during the 1980s, as well as co-founding the quartet Sphere.

The fest’s final day includes a jazz brunch at 16 Bay View (included in the All Access Pass); and a free performance by the Mondaynite Jazz Orchestra in the Camden Amphitheatre.

Tickets for the Snow Bowl events and feature concert, as well as All Access Passes, are on sale online at www.camdenoperahouse.com and www.jazzinjunecamdenme.com; by phone at (207) 236-7963; at the Camden Town Office; and, soon, K2 Music and Clean Bee Laundry in Camden.

All Access Pass tickets will be traded for a lanyard pass at the Jazz in June Ticket and Information Hub, which will be in the Camden Town Office’s Elm Street lobby, Thursday through Saturday, June 13 through 15.
