St. Thomas Episcopal Church, at 33 Chestnut St., Camden, invites you to the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 9:30 a.m. Participants will gather on the front lawn of the church. (Follow the brick walkway to the parish hall if the weather is inclement).
Any pet that you cherish is welcome, according to St. Thomas Episcopal, in a news release. All creatures must be under control by their human companion.
"You are also joyfully welcomed to join the procession into the church with your pet for the 10 a.m. service as we continue to celebrate the gift of all creation, in honor of St Francis of Assisi who is the patron saint of animals and nature," said the Church.
If your pet is unavailable, bring a stuffed animal or picture of your beloved animal for a blessing. Those grieving the loss of a pet may also wish to receive a special blessing.
