BELFAST — The Belfast Police Department reported the following activity May 20-27. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

May 16 (late entries)

Officer Michael Rolerson responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Back Searsport Road where an operator heading east attempted to overtake another vehicle making a right turn. The pass was reportedly improper and resulted in a collision. Carl Wardwell, 24, of Bucksport, was issued a summons for improper passing. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. There were no injuries.

Officer Michael Rolerson responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Robbins Road where one unit was backing from a parking place in Highland Trailer Park and struck another vehicle. The first vehicle was undamaged. Officer Rolerson estimated damage to the second at $2,000 to $3,000. There were no injuries.

Officer Travis Spencer responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Head of Tide Road where the operator of an antique 1956 Ford had trouble staying within the proper lane when making a right turn due to the vehicle's lack of power steering or brakes. The vehicle struck another after making too wide of a turn with both vehicles sustaining functional damage. There were no injuries.

May 17 (late entry)

Jerica Wallace, 27, of Belfast, was issued summonses for operating under the influence on Patterson Hill Road and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

May 20

Samuel D. Lear, 18, of Belfast, was issued a summons for speeding 64 mph in a 45 mph zone on Poors Mill Road.

Officer Travis Spencer responded to a single-vehicle accident on High Street where a driver backing out of a parking place at Belfast Coin Laundromat backed into a cement barrier protecting oil tanks, resulting in deep scratches to the bumper.

May 21

Caroline A. Wales, 28, of Chestertown, Maryland, was issued a summons for failure to register a motor vehicle.

Kristina M. Buswell, 20, of Belfast, was issued a summons for operating under the influence on Route 141. Buswell was also issued a summons for operating under the influence on Oak Hill Road in Swanville May 22.

May 22

Shawn R. Johnson, 44, of Northport, was arrested for operating under the influence (drugs) on Route 1 in Belfast and falsifying physical evidence.

May 24

Joseph Chamberlain, 18, of Camden, was issued a summons for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

Officer Thomas Ballard responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Main Street where an operator leaving a parking space struck another parked vehicle after turning out of the space too closely. Both vehicle sustained minor damage.

May 26

Steven S. Greenleaf, 48, of Searsport, was arrested for operating under the influence on Route 3 and operating after suspension.
