ROCKLAND — Barbara Powers Davis, 89, passed away peacefully July 8, 2013.

Born in Medway April 4, 1924, she was the daughter of Roy L. and Thelma Nolan Powers. Barbara grew up with five siblings in Medway.

From early childhood until the end of her life, she had a love of art and, later in life, a love of world traveling and flower gardening.

Barbara returned to Rockland in 1999 after traveling and living in multiple U.S. locations, Mexico and Spain.

Predeceased by her former husband, Grant Davis, formerly of Rockland; and two brothers, John and Roland Powers, formerly of Medway; Barbara is survived by her son, Roy G. Davis and his wife, Janice, of Owls Head and St. Simons Island, G.; her daughter, Nancy Davis Standish and her husband, Michael, of Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Steve and Chris Davis, and Ryan Thompson; one great-grandson, Mason Davis; as well as three sisters, Shirley Powers of Rockland, and Beverly Morin and Carol Boynton, both of East Millinocket.

Barbara will be laid to rest in the family plot in East Millinocket. No formal services are planned.
