BELFAST — A Bangor man was sentenced to serve three years in prison with all but 10 days suspended for possessing sexually explicit material of a minor in Waldo County Unified Court Nov. 1. 

Alex N. Small, 40, who was living in Winterport at the time of his arrest, will also serve two years of probation for the crime. The videos involved children who had yet to reach the age of 12.

Small was reported to police Jan. 28, 2019, by his then-girlfriend, who reported finding what she believed to be child pornography on his personal laptop. The laptop was turned over to police that day, according to an affidavit. 

When interviewed by police, Small reportedly acknowledged that one of the videos he watched likely contained a victim under age 10.
