Author talk with recovering alcoholic at Thomaston library

Thursday, August 13, 2026 - 06:00 pmMary Cee, a practicing Marriage and Family Therapist for over two decades and a recovering alcoholic, will present on her book, In the Rooms: A Therapist’s Guide to Getting and Staying Sober, Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m., at the Thomaston Public Library. This collaborative community event is co-sponsored by Cushing and Thomaston public libraries, and is free and open to the public.
Cee "will bring a wealth of personal and professional experience to the presentation," said a library news release.
"In the Rooms is not just for those grappling with alcohol dependency," said the news release. "A blend of memoir and science, it’s for the sober-curious, the well-being seekers, and anyone trying to understand the complex dynamics of addiction. Cee’s unique perspective as a therapist and recovering alcoholic lends depth credibility to the narrative."
Before her therapeutic career, Mary Cee honed her storytelling skills in New York interning at Rolling Stone, and in Los Angeles at Buzz Magazine. Now she divides her time between Nashville and Maine.
"Her work is particularly beneficial for those grapplnig with alcohol dependency or seeking to improve their wellbeing," said the news release.
