ROCKPORT — Enjoy the end of summer with the relaxing and transformative sound of gongs and chimes as part of Coastal Mountains Land Trust's "Arts on the Hill" program, Sunday, Sept. 27, from 2 – 3 p.m., at Beech Hill Preserve.

Using large gongs from all over the world and chimes of his own creation, musical instrument creator and sound therapist Jim Doble will create waves of sound to help participants sonically cleanse, rejuvenate, rest, and renew in a safe environment.

“This is best experienced as a sonic meditation, so please bring something comfortable to lie on, such as a blanket or yoga mat and some water if you wish,” said Coastal Mountains Land Trust, in a news release.

While there is plenty of room to be spaced well apart from others, pre-registration is required in order to cap the number of participants at 35.  Email info@coastalmountains.org to register.

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 10,000 acres to date, offering 45 miles of trails for public recreation.

Jim Doble, of Elemental Design Sound/Vibration Therapy has been spreading good vibrations around the globe through his instrument creations for nearly 30 years. In the last several years, Doble has collected and made a variety of large gongs and other instruments for use in both his private Sound Therapy practice, as well as playing for group Sound “Baths.” He very much looks forward to be offering this in such a beautiful location!
