Artist, boatbuilder Stephen Tofield exhibits ‘Turned-Bowls from Local Wood’

UNION — The March Art Exhibit at Vose Library features "Turned-Bowls from Local Wood" by artist and boatbuilder Stephen Tofield, of Union.
Tofield uses mostly unseasoned Maine grown timber and roughly turns a chainsawed log into a basic form to be kiln-dried and later transformed into bowls finished with walnut oil and beeswax.
This exhibit also features some turned-candlesticks made with exotic woods.
Viewing during open library hours.
