Arnold H. Leeman, obituary
ROCKLAND — Arnold H. Leeman, 70, died unexpectedly at his home Sept. 15, 2013, after a long struggle with diabetes.
Born in Round Pond July 16, 1943, he was the son of Floyd M. and Bertha A. Sprague. He was educated in Bristol schools.
Since the age of 17, he served as a volunteer firefighter with Round Pond Fire Department.
For several years, Arnold worked as a lobster fisherman out of Round Pond. During the winter months he worked with N.C. Hunt Lumber Company. An accomplished carpenter, Arnie also worked as a boat builder and in home construction. He later worked at Wayfarer Marine in Camden.
He loved pets, nature and going on rides just to take in the sights.
For more than 30 years, Arnie has enjoyed the companionship, love and support of Susie Gray, with whom he resided.
Besides his parents, Arnie was pre-deceased by a sister, Lucille Anderson in 1992. Other than his companion Susie, he is survived by three daughters, Carrie I. Perkins and her husband, Les, and Jodi L. Leeman, all of Waldoboro, and Marci A. Anderson and her husband, Travis, of Searsmont; three brothers and their wives, Wallace and Kathy Leeman, and Donald and Marilyn Leeman, all of Round Pond, and Clifton “Conk” and Jessica Leeman of Whitefield; four grandchildren, Ashley, Allyson, Dillon and Alexis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to be held at Chamberlain Cemetery in Round Pond, will be announced
