CAMDEN — Arlene Dorothea (Watts) Leach, known to everyone as "Auntie," passed away suddenly on March 4, 2023 at Pen Bay Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Karlo, and cherished family members.

Arlene, born in 1942, graduated from Rockport High School in 1960 and married Karlo Leach in 1969. She was a button seamstress for 27 years at Schoolhouse Togs in Rockport and Rockland. She also worked at Surroundings and Boynton McKay in Camden. What brought her the most joy in life was caring for many children for family and friends.

Auntie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Hazel (Churchill) Watts, of Rockport; and her brother, Maurice and his wife Jacqueline (Young) Watts of Lincolnville.

She is survived by her husband, Karlo, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, as well as great-grandnieces and -grandnephews.

For Auntie, family was always paramount. She enjoyed camping and yearly trips to the Fryeburg Fair. She always looked forward to celebrating the holidays. Her Easter egg hunts were a hit and she made sure that Christmas was always special for the kids. Auntie took her nieces and nephews on many wonderful adventures over the years and loved to attend their plays and concerts. She attended and had fun volunteering at a lot of the kids’ sporting events, like baseball, soccer, basketball, and wrestling.

A celebration of Auntie’s life will be held this summer. A private burial will be scheduled for immediate family.
