Abundance of municipal seat openings on Appleton ballot

APPLETON — There is an abundance of open municipal seats appearing on the Appleton ballot this summer.
Out of the eight municipal seats to be voted on when voters head to the polls on Tuesday, June 11, only one of those seats has a declared candidate.
Peter C. Beckett is the lone candidate appearing on the ballot in Appleton as he seeks reelection to his three-year seat on the select board.
There are no candidates on the ballot for two Appleton Village school board seats, a planning board associate member, two regular planning board member seats, another select board seat or a Five Town school board seat.
Voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
