DOVER-FOXCROFT — Virginia L. Dodge, 85, formerly of Rockport, peacefully passed away Feb. 1, 2013, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Dover-Foxcroft after a long illness. Born in Lincolnville March 14, 1927, she was the daughter of Collier and Alice (Townsend) Hills.

She married Leforest E. Dodge Sr. in July 1945 in Camden. He predeceasd her in 1969.

For many years, Mrs. Dodge was employed as a spinner at the Knox Woolen Mill in Camden. Following her husband's death in 1969, she went back to school and obtained her beautician and barber's licenses. As a beautician, she worked in Portland, Lewiston, Augusta and at Lenfest Beauty Salon in Camden.

Mrs. Dodge's hobbies included playing golf, listening to country music, going to thrift shops, and playing Skipbo with family and friends. Her most memorable times were the many trips she took traveling with Marlene and Lee in their motorhome to Texas and attending family reunions. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and making others laugh.

The Dodge family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor and also the hospice workers at Community Health in Dover-Foxcroft.

Surviving is her son, Lee, and his wife, Marlene Dodge of Dover-Foxcroft with whom she resided; two grandchildren, Todd Dodge of Dover-Foxcroft and Angela Dodge-Gieseman of Rockport; three great-grandchilren; two great great-granddaughters; and a son, Stephen Dodge and his wife, Shirley, of New Hampshire; and granddaughters, Meghan and Heather. She was predeceased by four sisters and her dear friend, Marjorie Wentworth.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Mountain View Cemetery in Camden.
