Milford woman receives jail time for stalking
STOCKTON SPRINGS — A Milford woman has been sentenced to 120 days in jail with all but 24 days suspended, and one year of probation for stalking a Stockton Springs man (with serious inconvenience/emotional distress).
Nicole J. Holmes, 28, was also charged with criminal trespass and harassment as a result of the March 26 incident.
Holmes was arrested by Maine State Police after she illegally entered a man’s home and attempted to climb into bed with him, according to court documents.
The man contacted law enforcement just after 11 p.m., telling dispatchers that he had seen a shadow in his bedroom, which he had assumed to be his child. It wasn’t until Holmes was crawling into bed with him that he even realized she was in the room.
Holmes was still standing near the victim’s front door when Maine State Police arrived.
The victim had previously reported Holmes to law enforcement in July 2016, which resulted in her being warned for trespassing and harassment. He also contacted law enforcement Feb. 23, when Holmes appeared at his home again.
During the course of the investigation authorities learned that the victim and Holmes had previously. The victim reported that the two had never been romantically involved, though Holmes would continuously text him from different phone numbers, making the calls impossible to block entirely.
After confirming with Waldo County Communications that Holmes had been previously warned to steer clear of the residence, Holmes was arrested and transported to Waldo County Jail.
In addition to stalking, Holmes was convicted of criminal trespass and harassment and sentenced to 24 days in jail for each charge.
